It is with regret that I report the complete loss of Program 12 personnel during Subsurface Route 9 expedition. All five operatives were confirmed KIA following a coordinated attack by hostile mutant entities approximately 6.4 km beneath the surface.
Recovered communication devices suggests the ambush occurred shortly after contact with a high-density bio-reactive zone, consistent with areas previously flagged for high CNS-X saturation. Operative vitals flatlined within a 3-minute window. Environmental feeds were lost immediately after.
No samples were recovered. No distress beacons activated.
This marks the third full-team loss in the last 90 days. Preliminary analysis suggests either an increase in subterranean hostility or a failure in predictive tracking algorithms. I recommend reassessing deployment patterns and enhancing regenerative stability before Program 13 is greenlit. Further data pending autopsy of recovered fragments.
